  • Details
  • Product Overview

This product is a low-viscosity liquid organosilicon polymer. Its molecular structure contains crosslinkable active groups such as Si-H and vinyl groups. It can be crosslinked and cured under relatively mild conditions. It has low volatile content, does not produce gas or foam during the curing process, and the cured product can be converted into silicon carbide ceramics with a near-stoichiometric ratio of SiC with high yield by pyrolysis under an inert atmosphere.

    Performance Characteristics

This product has good fluidity and high ceramic yield, especially suitable as a precursor for preparing silicon carbide ceramic matrix composites by the polymer impregnation pyrolysis (PIP) method. It can also be used as the base resin for ceramizable high-temperature adhesives and coatings. It has good storage stability.

This polycarbosilane has the advantages of low viscosity and high ceramic yield, good molding processability. When used as the matrix resin for the PIP process, no solvent is required. Compared with solid polycarbosilane, it can significantly improve the impregnation efficiency and shorten the process cycle. The ceramic product obtained by pyrolysis at 1100℃ under an inert atmosphere is near-stoichiometric silicon carbide with excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance.

Pyrolysis of this product at 1100℃ under an inert atmosphere yields a ceramic product that is near-stoichiometric silicon carbide with excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance.
