Difference between oxidized polyethylene wax and polyethylene wax

Oxidized polyethylene wax is obtained from the oxidation of polyethylene wax, oxidized polyethylene wax and polyethylene wax are both wax additives. Because of the different production process, oxidized polyethylene wax and polyethylene wax are different in physical and chemical properties. The difference between oxidized polyethylene wax and polyethylene wax:

First, polyethylene wax (PE wax), also known as polymer wax referred to as polyethylene wax, normal production, this part of the wax as an additive can be added directly to the polyolefin processing, it can increase the light translation and processing performance of the product, as a lubricant, its chemical properties are stable, good electrical properties. Therefore with excellent cold resistance, heat resistance, chemical resistance and wear resistance and widely used.

Second, oxidized polyethylene wax. Oxidized polyethylene wax is an excellent new polar wax, so the compatibility with fillers, pigments, polar resins has been significantly improved, lubrication, dispersion is better than polyethylene wax. Oxidized polyethylene wax molecular chain with a certain amount of carbonyl and hydroxyl, but also with coupling. Polyethylene wax has good compatibility with polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl acetate, ethylene propylene rubber and butyl rubber. Compared to PVC and other external lubricants, oxidized polyethylene waxes have a stronger internal lubricating effect.


Oxidized polyethylene wax has good moisture resistance at room temperature, strong chemical resistance, excellent electrical properties, and good compatibility with polyolefin resins. It can improve the appearance of finished products, has special properties such as low viscosity, high softening point, good hardness, non-toxicity, good thermal stability, low volatility at high temperature, very good dispersion of filler and pigment, both excellent external lubrication and strong internal lubrication, and also has a coupling effect, which can improve the productivity of plastics processing, and reduce the production cost.
